Laws & Regulation

Dear Visitor:

Welcome to the Maryland Board of Pharmacy web site. The Maryland Board of Pharmacy sets standards to ensure the provision of safe, quality medication dispensing for Maryland citizens.

The Board was established in 1902 through by-laws that provided the Board with its current operational framework. Original by-laws included: the rights to hold meetings, obtain funds, elect officers, and offer examinations. For over 100 years the Board has hosted meetings, to which the public is invited to discuss issues and initiatives, as well as to review the Board ís progress in meeting its mission. Public Board meetings usually begin at 9:00 a.m. on the third Wednesday of every month.

Please select one of the above blue links to access information related to a specific area of interest. To track new initiatives at the Board please access the links below under Whatís New. The various site links offer valuable information and interactive applications to assist both pharmacy practitioners and Maryland consumers.

If assistance is required in navigating the web site, please feel free to contact the Board by e-mail or telephone using the Contact Us link to the left of each page. Maryland Board and staff members will always strive to make your browsing experience a pleasant one.
